Sidetracked

I caved....all my good intentions for working on one of my UFO's while awaiting the backing for the "secret project" flew right out the window. And it's all your fault. "Yours" as in all of you fellow quilters who are working on One Block Wonder quilts, or have posted pics of them. It seems everyplace I've wandered lately, I keep seeing these quilts.

So, with trusty coupon in hand, I picked up the book. And, as luck would have it, I happened to have a nicely aged piece of fabric in my stash that would fit the bill. This fabric even had a date on the selvedge, 1999! Yeah, I guess it's time has come.

I did manage to start the next QOV before I got sidetracked. At first I thought I would be doing this as leaders and enders while working on a UFO. Silly me. I do have everything cut and stacked next to the sewing machine. And I've even managed to stitch a few portions of blocks together.

So, I've fessed up. Now I realize just WHY I have so many UFO's. I get sidetracked far too easily. I remember reading someplace that somebody justified their UFO's this way: "You get all excited about the new project. Once you've completed the design phase and have started in on the construction phase, you already see the finished object in your mind and thus start thinking about the next project." Yup, that's me.

So, if anyone has any good ways to get me back on track and finish some of these UFO's, please share them. I need all the help I can get. In the meantime, you'll find me downstairs listening to a book and working on my OBW quilt. :o)
