Did You Know...

.....that a Pfaff sewing machine has the ability to sew right through your finger, nail and all?!?

I came running upstairs to find The Bearded one with this sticking through my fingertip. He couldn't see it at first because of the blood I was dripping.....

See, from this side you can hardly even tell where it was......

But, from this side.......

Now that it's all said and done, I'm medicating myself with some Crown Royal. Typing isn't easy when you have a big 'ol bandaid wrapped around your middle finger.....luckily no blood was shed on the project I was working on. And no, I have NO IDEA how I managed to do this. I do know that i pulled another piece of the needle out of the top half of my finger before running upstairs for help with the tip.....

Hello...you are not the only one who has done that. I did that once. Hubby was out to sea and it was late (2am) and so I had to pull my hand out by myself. Owww. It still hurts thinking about it. I hope you feel better soon.

I've seen other people who have managed to do this but luckily not me! Ouch!

Brother machines can do the same thing. My hubbie was in the next room and came running when I yelled "turn the WHEEL!!" My machine was in needle-down mode, and it kept trying to finish the stitch through my finger. I got queasy reading that you dealt with needle pieces. You're a lucky lady!

OMG this happened to me too. Same finger. Had to have surgery because part of the needle stayed in my finger and I couldn't get it out! Ouch! The good part is that we heal nicely and are more cautious in the future. Happy quilting!

Oh ouchie. One thing though, you had the correct medication. That is critical to the healing process my friend.

Bernina's can do it too! I did the same thing last fall, only the needle was ALL the way through, I had a half inch of point hanging out one side of my finger and the hub on the nail side. I wish I had taken a picture. I couldn't figure out which way to pull it, so I went to the ER. They numbed my finger and backed it out. Cost me $1000 for that ER visit. But at least I know my Bernina can sew through ANYTHING!!!!!!
